lots of toshibas do this: the 4600 was particularly prone. if its
what i think it is, its a n easy fix.
its either inverter/backlight gone or its the common problem of dirty
contacts on the inverter. remove the battery and power, and take off
the screen surround. look for the inverter, which is a small board
about 6x1. therell be a white plastic power connector on each end:
disconnect, clean contacts and refit. its a 10 minute job that fixes
a lot of toshes...
