Well just under a year ago, I bought my Inspiron 8200, with the uprated
spec (64Mb Radoen 9200, 2Gig CPU, 60Gig HDD) new from Dell for Ł1300

So I would estimate you are looking in the region of Ł800

Its not so much much much yours is worth but how much a comparible new
laptop is today.

Its sucks the depreciation value of computer stuff, this has hardly been

That is the reality Im afraid. when you consider the cost of out of
warranty replacement and the cost of a comparable machine its not worth
much at the end of the day its worth what someone is willing to pay :(

Unfortunatly, this is how it goes. Have a look and see what Ł800 buys
you today from Dell, and this will put your laptop value into perspective.

It also sounds as though you bought at the wrong time, as 2K for a
laptop of that spec is at least Ł500 over the odds. Dells prices do
fluctuate, so may have been higer due to product popularity (my inspiron
is a similar age, but with faster CPU, better graphics, bigger HDD, and
I paid Ł1300).
