I have a Toshiba Satellite L40 that came with Vista Home Premium and while I
quite like Vista I am possibly thinking of reverting to XP. Toshiba do all
the XP drivers for it, but my main question is this: Does the Recovery DVD
utilise a hidden partition on the HDD, or is it a straight imaging DVD? In
Disk management I have three partitions: one of 1.46 GB which is EISA format
and shows as empty, one of 37.26GB as System and one of 35.8GB as Data
making a total of 74.53GB on a nominally 80GB HDD. Does that indicate a
hidden partition or not, and if it does, would installing XP overwrite any
Vista recovery partitions in case I need to return to Vista?

Thanks
