Is it possible to get a new battery for the laptop mentioned above.

I can get about 2 hours on a single charge, but when I am out in the
field with all of the USB ports used, it doesnt last very long.
(Think South Africa at the moment:-( )

Also, does this laptop suffer from an inherantly bad display, only
capable of 800 x 600. Think grainy and lag.

Also, where can I get a manual for it?

Thanks

Are you in a field or in a car? If the latter, you probably want a
car/laptop adapter which runs off the cigarette lighter.

Should be 1024 x 764 colour. If you set this resolution then your display
will look much better ;-).

I am using it in the middle of the bush, where the only means of
transport is a Quad bike.

I am unable to get anything better than 800 x 600, anything bigger and
the display cannot accomodate it. the graphics card allows me to place
a normal monitor on at 1024 x 768.

But where can I find the manuals for it? Ive tried the Toshiba
website, but no sucess.

Thanks

Joe,

Try this link. Seems yours is one of the diddy 800x600 models. You should,
however, be getting good, clear display. Sure its not set to 640x480 with
auto-stretch? If I remember right, auto-stretch is a BIOS setting and
if you turn it off, a 640x480 display would just use part of the screen.
Also, you will find the drivers off a link on this webpage and they might
improve things if you dont have the correct display drivers loaded.

As to power, I wonder it a solar panel would work for you. I believe there
are such things for PCs.

Misplaced them.

Joe,

You dont need to turn off Auto-stretch, just change the resolution to
800x600 and enjoy.

There are no manuals on the site I pointed you at but the 1730 seems to be
similar to try below. Alternatively, what do you want to know as Ive
played with an 110CT which looks similar.

Thanks man.

I have already turned auto stretch off, but it makes no difference.

Thanks
