LAPTOP FORUM

Today I bought a new battery for this laptop, (old one given up completely).
Charged it up for 5 hours and then powered up the laptop whilst still
connected to PSU. Unplugged the PSU (with everything crossed), and laptop
stayed powered. Fantastic!

Powered the PC down, pressed the power switch and... NOTHING, refused to
even try to start up! Plugged in the PSU and pressed the button and up it
powers perfectly again even if I unplug the PSU 1 second after switching on.

For some reason the laptop still thinks its connected to the PSU even
when running on battery as the power cable symbol is still showing.
Checking the battery state in the power management window shows no battery
detected.. even though its running on battery.

Has anyone come across this problem?
