Had 3 fail in the past year, all showing either very low or poor reception.
1 Linksys, 1 Adapatec and 1 Generic. Anyone else experienced failures like
this?

Ive a box of dead ones..

Ive gone over to specifying USB ones, on a short stiff extender cable.
Not had a single failure of one of these yet. YMMV.

I had avoided USB because they are so easy to break - but the extender cable
is a good idea. I have two broken Bluetooth USB adapters as well . . . .

There maybe a market for USB devices on a bendy extender cable ... any

All the USB Wifi adapters I have purchased lately have come with
them..And the ethernet adapters too, come to that. Lost of flash drives
come with them.

I have dozens of 3COM X-Jack type WiFi PC cards out in the field for the
past 5 years or so with nary a failure.
