Hi,
I have this 440CDT and a spare SODIMM, so thought, hey, Ill put it in
that. So, started looking for the socket:

Under the keyboard? Nope. Via the battery bay? Via the CD/floppy bay?
Via the hard drive bay? All nope. well, as far as I can tell, nope.

Ive looked everywhere that I can think of...and still havent found it.

Anyone know that it does have a socket and, if so, please tell me where
it is?

Are you sure you looked under the keypad? Or did you simply lift the keypad
up and shove it back again? Some of the older Toshs had a screwed-down flap
underneath which covered the memory bank. Make sure the Sodimm is right for
your machine by going to www.crucial.com/uk and entering the machine type
etc.

I took the plate off - 1 short screw and 3 long ones*. No sign of a
socket. Crucial came up with nothing suitable - which may be because
these models dont take extra. However the spec says 16 -144 Mbyte which
made me think it could have 16 Mbyte on the motherboard and take up to
128 in a SODIMM. From its age, I would guess a 144 pin.

But thanks for the suggestions.
