LAPTOP FORUM

I have a 1.5 year old Toshiba laptop running XP. It only writes CDs and
DVD-R. It has recently started the following bizarre behaviour.

If I write a DVD-R it no longer reads it in the Drive. When trying to read
the DVD LED flashes then eventually stays on for ever. No data. If I put the
disk in my desktop it reads it so the writer has put the data on the disk
but wont read it??!!. The desktop can write -R +R dual layer etc.

The laptop can write CDs and reads them. They also work fine in the
desktop.

The laptop reads other DVDs!!??

I have tried cleaning the drive. No difference. The real problem is I dont
know what could be causing this behaviour.

Any ideas?
