Having totally killed my time hard disc I have to reinstall the drivers for
things. It has/had a good lcd display. But the analysis using sisoft says
it has a standard
VGA adaptor the drivers off Microsoft for this produce a lousy display.
Anybody got any idea where do I look for drivers for an lcd display ?

Any help or pointers welcome please.
Dave

Second time round?

You need to find out what graphics chipset is in the laptop! Then go to
their sight and get drivers.

Tip: Download AIDA or Sandra and find out what graphics chipset is in
machine. BUT being a Time bag of Cr*p you may struggle finding drivers!!!!!

Agreed. If it happens to have dedicated graphics, then you can get ATI or
Nvidia drivers from: http://www.omegadrivers.net/ regardless of who made the
machine, these will work.

You can use Belarc advisor to determine what you have in the way of GPU:
http://www.belarc.com/free download.html

This is last time I will answer this question. If you are too thick to
follow some links and simple instructions then I cant be bothered to help
you!

Sorry for the repeat. I am on BT and display of newsgroups is a lottery. I
could not & cannot find my earlier request shown in BTs version of this
newsgroup.

I have a disc from Time that came with the machine and is labelled drivers
but it does not seem to want to run...mind you the cd reader is pretty
crummy. It will read for 5 minutes then gives up...too hot. I find it will
read discs I make on my main machine but not any commercial originals. So I
have to copy them and then use the copy !

Anyway thanks for the advice.

Thanks Mr SQuiggle. Your final remarks I shall ignore! See my excuse above
(of couse it might be outlook excess which fails from time to time to show
the originator his own message (and therefore the thread).
It is I am sure a proprietry xvga controller. The Microsoft ones work but
with chunky poor results. I will explore all avenues.

Hi Dave,
Just to say that you can always access the newsgroup (and any others)
through Google groups.
