My Clevo D480W (rebadged AJP) has recently started treating me to STOP
errors and just this morning refused to start, giving four beeps as the
POST code. Does anyone know what this particular code means?

Thank you for that really helpful response. ISTR Thinkpads had more
than their fair share of problems.

Try Googling for POST four beeps.

Whats the bios in your Clevo? AMI or Phoenix or etc?

Might be worth re-seating your RAM but have to say it sounds like a
motherboard failure of some description...

I was only joking. Check that any memory modules are secure in their
sockets, and you might also flash the bios, if the floppy drive will let
you, I suspect that if POST reports a fault, then you may have difficulty
going much further.

Any keys sticking? They sometimes stick and it isnt apparent just looking
at the keyboard.

Not joking, if it was a ThinkPad you could download the hardware service
manual from the IBM site and have all the service information. For the
ThinkPad four short beeps and a blank screen is a bad system board.
