Not sure if im even in the right group here, but here we go :-)

Basically, I have a Medion laptop, MD6488, 2.6P4, 512DDR, GF4 488 Go GFX,
40gb HDD, DVD/CDRW combo. Its about 2 1/2 years old, and runs Windows XP
Pro with all the updates done.

Now the problem is, when i use the Wifi, using a 3Com office connect Wifi
PCMCIA card, and try to transfer large files or do anything that really
maxes the link (or just sometimes after a while...) it freezes and i have to
switch off and on again.

Now I just assumed this was a Windows issue, and as it was about due a
format reinstall anyway, i thought that would probably cure it-but alas, it
hasnt. So, clean install, latest drivers are on, natch, so, anyone got any
ideas? Faulty card? Faulty PCMCIA?

Cheers for any help :-)

Update - just thought - its not the PCMCIA - because i have Vodafone GPRS/3G
mobile connect card and it never does it with that in.

Could be the card. Possibly if it gets hot. Only real way would be to
install it on another Laptop and see. You might want to try shutting down
all other apps (via task manager) including anti virus and firewall software
and try to eliminate any possible software conflicts.

Cant suggest much else.

Have you tried the manufacturers website for FAQs or other hints?

Update - all sorted :) Updated PCMCIA drivers, and fiddled with some other
stuff. Seems fine now!
