Most of us who subscribe to this NG are well aware of the Sony after-sales
and software problems, but any reference to Sonys shortcomings immediately
provokes a mass of support for the company and its products from satisfied
users, and retailers who believe there really is nothing to compare with
Sony, so we shut up and say nothing.
I do not have a Sony laptop, therefore any hands-on experience I have of the
brand is with their other products, most of which are satisfactory, although
their radios are crap.
There have been many rants like your own about Sony laptops, but you would
have had to read the NG prior postings thoroughly to ascertain this.
At least the laptop is presumably well built and aesthetically pleasing?
My neighbour has just bought a new desktop from a local PC seller/assembler.
It had the full Win XP disk with SP2 supplied as standard. Seems to be the
norm when you dont deal with the big boys!
