Willl Desktop DDR400 pc3200 ram work fine in a DDR333 or DDR266 system ? is
it okay to mix the higher speed rated ram in a lower speed machine with
already install 266 or 333?

Any info welcome .

No, wont physically fit.

sorry, you misspelt yes, it will work fine at the slower speed. all
DDR-RAM has the same physical connectors and all bar one or two
extremely fussy BIOSes are backwards compatible! Assuming youre not
doing anything dumb like putting desktop ram in a laptop - if youre
going to try this youll realise why this is a daft idea within a few
milliseconds of looking at the two sizes of RAM chips...

The 2 sticks of DDR ram should match each other for type and speed. but
dont have to match the DDR sticks already installed. All the slots must be
populated with either ram or rimms modules.

As this was posted in the laptops NG, thats exactly what I assumed, he was
looking to put desktop RAM in a laptop.
