Hi what is a Centrino equivalent of compare with a standard desktop pentium
4 ?? as im considering a new laptop , my current laptop is a p4 2.53ghz ,
most new laptops seem to come as with Centrino processors theses days.....

When you have read all the technical stuff about Centrino, be aware that I
have 2 laptops, one with a P4 and the other with Centrino. The P4 battery
lasts for about 1-1/2 hours and the Centrino for 4 hours. Both were bought
at the same time and have had roughly the same usage.

There is no noticeable difference in the speed of these 2 machines.

Hi so a centino 1.8ghz is the equivalent of a 1.8 p4?

no a 1.8centrino is about equivalent to a 28 or 3.0 P4

The P4 is a 2500mhz and the Centrino is a Pentium M 1500mhz.
