Hi I have a Toshiba 4090 that works fine on mains but the battery led does
not light, software shows battery and state of charge but when on battery it
works ok but still shows as on mains and charging even though its running
off the battery? Ive tried another new battery still the same. Anyone know
what this might be I have a working 4030 with a broken case and plan to swap
the necessary part over.

Pete

You sound to have found something the scientists have been looking for ever
since they discovered electricity, a source of infinite power. Are you
saying the laptop runs forever without the battery going flat?

No sorry if I didnt make it clear if you pull the mains lead the battery
management shows charging and the icon in the system tray shows still on
mains although it is in fact running on the battery, so it does not switch
into power save mode if set to do so in power properties, when the battery
drains it dies. It is just behaving as if its on mains regardless of if the
mains is connected or not, strange but it does charge the battery but the
battery led does not work at all.

Hi Pete,

Have you tried a full system reset? There is a reset button on the left hand
side of the laptop, hold this in until the laptop turns of, and then try
again!

Cheers,

Lee.
