Hi,

My thinkpad 380 does not recognise that my HD is there anymore, during
startup the HD clicks and then gives an error code of 174.

Is it poss to repair my HD or do I need a new one?

The obvious thing to do first is swap it with a known good one and see
if that fixes the problem.
