Ive got my eye on a Presario 2138 and they seem to go for Ł450. Can I
assume that auctions prove the going rate for these?

PS. Also good for pyramid scams. Sony VAIO 2.66G for Ł20.. You bid for a
link that shows you how to get a new one at that price... I dont think
so.

You will find that the closing prices on Ebay can vary by as much as Ł100
either way for the same laptop, therefore without spending a lot of time
tabulating these, you cannot establish what is an average price.

The Thinkpad T22 for example has sold for as little as Ł215 and as much as
Ł340 recently, and furthermore, the condition, which is stated as very
good has to be subjective, since one persons assessment of what is very
good is totally different from anothers.

Remove nospam from return address.

yes but check

1. the auction has ended, you can do a normal search then select completed
items somewhere on left and it will re-search, although you need to be a
member to do this
2. for ended auctions check that the reserve was met and that someone
actually won it
3. you can select to view buy it now items only which will give you a good
idea too

i also check www.loot.com, www.friday-ad.co.uk

I suspect it costs Sony a tad more than Ł20 to make them! Googling shows the
truth.. Legal but immoral. you get the laptop if you make enough intros and
are at the top of the pyramid scheme.

Probably the same scenario as car auctions.. Dealers snap up the
ex-corporate gems before the general public get a look in.
