Ive been rescuing a Sharp A250 Notebook that was dumped asthe previous
owner couldnt do anything with it.
The first problem was to find a PS - a good universal from www.comquip.co.uk
. The A250 turned out to be programmed in W2000 but the built-in touchpad
didnt work and it was programmed in Chinese which didnt help at all. I
reinstalled W2000 pro (in English) and got it to recognise a serial mouse,
connected via the external Floppy unit. The cursor re-appeared and it is
now quite usable.

But it still doesnt find the touch pad or the built in modem. Looking at
the Sharp site it says that it does not support W2000 for this notebook, but
it hints that there are 3rd party drivers for the modem out there.

Question 1 - does anybody know of suitable driver for the modem?
Q2 - Could this also be the reason for it not recognising the built in Touch
pad?

Should I put it back to Win98? This doesnt seem easy to do once you have
NTFS installed. Im worried that if I do a FDisk then Ill end up without a
suitable driver for the external CDROM drive (Datawise Dash C0000367) and be
snookered!.

All suggestions gratefully received! Thanks in advance,

Malcolm L
